The Western States Racing League hosts sim-racing two nights a week on the iRacing.com service. We encourage hard racing and serious competition, as long as drivers are clean and respectful. We're all here to enjoy racing, and green flag racing is a big part of that (wrecks and caution laps are no fun).

All skill levels are welcomed, regardless of iRating or Class, as long as drivers can hold their line. Whether it is out of respect for their fellow racers or due to self-discipline, our drivers give each other room to race. It makes for intense, competitive and fun racing. And it's a mature, friendly atmosphere, both on the track and in our forums.

The league was founded in the Fall of 1999 and hosted sim-racing on its own server for over a decade with Papyrus' NASCAR Sims. In June of '10 we made the switch to iRacing and have been there since. The WSRL has hosted nearly 2,000 points events over the course of 25 years of sim-racing.

The WSRL currently hosts two official series:

  • Tuesday Night runs:
    • NASCAR Trucks
  • Friday Night runs:
    • Gen 4 Cup

Both Series run fixed setups and use 40% of Cup event distance using fixed weather (iRacing default) and dynamic skies.

Practice sessions start at 5:05PM Pacific and run for two hours and 10 minutes.

Qualifying is solo/single car, 10 minutes long, begins at 7:15, and is immediately followed by the Race Session.

The schedule is available here or from the site menu above.

There is no charge to join the WSRL: There is no league membership fee, no required donation, no prize pool, and no cost for iRacers to participate in our events (and BTW, donations are never solicited). But the flip-side is that there are no prizes, no trophies and no money or other reward for winning races or winning the WSRL Championships. We race because we love sim-racing and we enjoy the competition.

Many members have been with us for years. In addition to being competitors, we're all friends. We have held several gatherings over the years in Las Vegas, Southern California and Northern California. And we plan to get together again. It's a fun group, there's no attitudes.

If you're interested in joining, please take a moment to view our rules. They give an idea of our priorities and a feel for what we're all about. If you've read the rules and are still interested, fill-in the form on the Join page and you will be contacted by an Administrator.
